Top 10 Instagrams from my UK trip 2014/2015

As I sit in the airport and wait for my flight back to Australia, I take a few moments to reflect on my TOP 10 moments of this trip. Well, it’s all been rather amazing but there have been stand outs. I think the thing I realised this afternoon as I stood by the river Thames at my Grandmother’s house, is that this country is part of me. It’s where my heritage lies, it’s where my family is and where I have so many friends. I’m blessed to be able to visit so frequently ( four separate visits in the past 12 months) and I’ll continue to take every opportunity to visit my families homeland.

Now! For the pictures!

Such a spectacular sight of swans on the river Thames in Staines. I’ve loved feeding these beauties since I was 9 years old at my Grandmothers house. Simple relaxing pleasures.

Glorious frosty morning in Surrey, England. Can’t wait to see snow in Germany/ Austria at the end of the week.

Lovely winter walk with my Marcham girls. Brisk, crisp but always love our walks in the English countryside.

Spring in London

Spring came early to London this year with beautiful weather and blue skies!

23 degrees and sunny for 5 days straight whilst I was there from April 5th-10th. How lucky am I. The english go mad and strip off and run into the sea at the merest sight of the sun… though with this stunning weather, I was tempted to join them!

shorts and t shirts were necessary attire when strolling through london. A day of wearing a jumper and leggings nearly drove me to jump in the thames I was heating up.

Walking through St James Park on a day like this is a must!! I hope the weather continues so others get a chance.

This reminds me of why I love London!

Enjoy the Sunshine my fellow englishman/ and women!

2010 in Summary

So long 2010, Bring on 2011

by Emma Lovell on Wednesday, 05 January 2011 at 05:00

4 Days late but you all should have recovered by now.

Hope you had a wonderful night. Mine was quiet and spent with my lovely aunts and uncles. Just what I wanted. We had a surprise of the neighbours setting off fireworks in the backyard which we could see clearly through the glass conservatory roof. Just lovely.

So 2010 was a crazy big year, and a lot has changed. Here’s just a few highlights.

– Graduating from UTS with a Bachelor of Business with Distinction

– Having Pogojo, my company, making headlines across various news formats

– Visiting Singapore for a work meeting with FAPAA

– Going to Jakarta for an epic shopping spree and getting my feet cleaned by live fish

– Watching Sunsets in Bali with my lovely new friend Arief and relaxing for the first time in years!

– Running my business Lovelly Communications and working with some fantastic clients such as Inspired Aventures

– Helping to champion the CLIMB2KILIMANJARO trip with Alzheimer’s Australia NSW in honour of my late Grandpa Jack and also my Great Uncle Joe.

– Snowboarding in NZ after breaking my back last year in September

– Going to Melbourne to see my Mexi girls

Not all the year was highs and the last few months of the year were tough, being overworked and stressed to the max. So 2011 is a new leaf. Stress less and more enjoying! taking time to step back and appreciate. And doing work that is fulfilling.

Who knows what the year holds, but i look forward to whatever 2011 wants to throw at me!

Notes from the Mother Land

God save the Queen!

 I’m in England!

the mother land!

Literally my mother land as my mum is from here hehe.

Saw the Kings Speech yesterday. (  Phenomenal! So interesting and spectacularly executed! Very well done indeed. The film was made more interesting by the fact that I have first hand accounts of events around the time of his coronation and WWII from my late Grandmother, Doris Lovell. She wrote diaries every single year, and kept all her notebooks and date books rom the late 1930’s right up 10 2004!

Doris May Lovell 1942 (aged 17)

I am currently scanning, typing and reciting on to voice recording these amazing glimpses of history. I’m so fortunate to have a chance to see these. They are extremely personal and give me such a clear image of this wonderful woman. I feel I know her so much better now. I got my lovelly tattoo in honour of this lovelly woman after her passing! I’m very fortunate to come from a family that valued their history and that was so rich in information.

As you can see from some of photos of my brother, he also values the family name and hence got a tattoo of our family crest!

I’m now staying with my Aunty Linda, dad’s sister, the Marcham family. We are in East Grinstead and have been taking lovely walks, enjoying easter eggs far too early and having a good giggle.

 Toodle-oo old chap!
