More lovely walks in Albert Park

  •  Albert Park and the weather seem to have a deal going on. Whenever Emma goes for a walk, put on the most brilliant sunny day you can. It’s a great deal and I hope it continues.

After a failed attempt to wake up for a 1000 step adventure, my mate and I grabbed a coffee and headed for a practice walk in Albert Park.

Albert Park is located just 3km from the Melbourne CBD and a mere 20 minute walk from my house. It’s a great 4km walking track. There’s lots to see with the wildlife and beautiful birds on the lake, and also there is gym equipment plotted along the way for added exercise. That’s been a great thing about this trek- I’m being pushed to explore my local area on my various training routes.

Depending on the day, I will sometimes do 2 laps or head to the other sports areas around the park to vary my training. With a swimming pool, AFL fields, tennis courts and many childrens parks, this is the perfect place to get your active on.

Hoping to hit up the Swimming pool and sports centre soon to get some variation into my training. Walking will be the most important in regard to resembling my mountain climb, but general fitness is also very important. Making sure my back and leg muscles are strong enough to support my body whilst doing this great big challenge.

Hope you are inspired by these beautiful pictures to check out Albert Park next time you are in Melbourne or visit your local park.

I will be taking on my biggest Adventure yet, Climbing Kilimanjaro for Alzheimer’s Australia NSW!  I will Climb Kilimanjaro in honour of my Grandpa who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2008. I was in Africa when I found out and I said at the time I would one day do this for him, in his memory! We are raising money for Alzheimer’s Australia NSW to raise awareness and the necessary funds for prevention of the disease that affects so many. Dementia is the third leading cause of death in Australia, after heart disease and stroke. We must prevent and find a cure as it’s not a normal part of aging, and does affect 100,000’s of Australians.

Help me reach my $10.000 target by donating to my online fundraising page:
